According to the epic, Ramayana, everyone knows about Ravana's wife Mandothari. She has been referred to as a good natured woman with a divine power. It's also said that Mandothari was one of the Panchakannikaas who had the power of getting rid of any sin.

When Ravana kidnaped Sitadevi and brought her to Lankapuri, Mandothari said it was an injustice and asked Ravana to release Sita and let her go. She also requested Ravana many times, not to believe Mareesan who came as a fake deer only to deceive Rama.

Also, Mandothari advised him saying, 'People who stand in the right path of justice would always be supported by all living things, where as injustice makes one to be ignored even by their siblings'.

Mandothari already knew that Rama was not an ordinary human being and he was an Avatar of Lord Sri Vishnu.

Finally, in the war between Rama and Ravana, Ravana was killed by Rama's powerful arrow 'Ramapana'.

Mandothari cried in disgust and fell dead upon her husband's body.

Even though Mandothari was a powerful and deserved woman like Sita in all aspects, because of Ravana's bad deeds she had to face the tragic end.

Ravana, the king of Lankapuri, not realising his wife's good nature and having an arrogance with no fear of doing bad things, eventually met disaster.
